Biotin, also known as vitamin H or vitamin B7, is a water-soluble vitamin. As the "H" in vitamin H comes from the German word for skin (= Haut), it is known as a vitamin deeply related to skin and hair health. It contributes to beauty, maintaining volume and firmness, however, its amount in the body decreases as a result of irregular lifestyles, poor eating habits, smoking, and alcohol consumption. Although it is said that deficiency is basically rare, it is a water-soluble vitamin, which means that it cannot be stored in the body, and any excess is eliminated from the body.
DHC developed Sustained Release Biotin, a supplement containing 500μg of biotin in one tablet (daily recommended intake) that dissolves slowly inside the body. Utilizing the characteristics of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, the tablet gelates while dissolving inside the body so that the water-soluble vitamin is released constantly. This supplement offers not only an easy intake of biotin but also reduction of excess amount discharged from the body.
