The FreeStyle Libre 2 Reader is a handheld device that wirelessly scans the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor to display your glucose readings. It is compatible only with FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensors and cannot be used with other sensor models. The sensor communicates automatically with the Reader and can provide optional glucose alarms if you choose to turn those on. The Reader also includes a built in meter for blood glucose and keton testing, offering added flexibility when needed.

*Turn the Reader on by pressing the Home Button or touch Check Glucose from the Home Screen.
*Hold the Reader within 1 cm of your Sensor to scan it. Your Sensor wirelessly sends glucose readings to the Reader. If sounds are turned on, the Reader beeps when the Sensor has been successfully scanned.
Warnings
Charging Hazard: Using non-Abbott power adapters or third-party USB cables can provide too much power, significantly increasing the risk of the reader overheating, sparking, or catching fire.
Action Required: Always charge the reader using only the Abbott-provided yellow USB cable and power adapter.
Reader Care: Prevent foreign materials from entering the ports, avoid dropping or exposing the device to liquids, and discontinue use if the reader’s battery becomes visibly swollen or damaged.
