HANSAPLAST

HANSAPLAST

Nine decades of best performance in healing everyday pains and problems! When Hansaplast invented the first adhesive plaster in 1922, woundcare was revolutionised. It was only then that it became possible to take care of those small injuries and mishaps of everyday life without the help of a doctor. Simply by going to the medicine cabinet and applying a plaster.

In 1879, Dr. Unna developed a process for soaking pieces of gauze in hot salves. The story began with combing this process with the pharmacist, Beiersdorf’s invention of a novel kind of plaster with a rubber liner. After countless laboratory tests Paul C. Beiersdorf was able to produce an adhesive for “Guttaperchapapier” with gauze. On March 28th, 1882, he received patent no. 20057 for the manufacture of coated plasters, which sealed the fate of the company Beiersdorf.

Since then, Hansaplast has come a long way. Today, we apply our expertise in wound healing, pain relief and footcare across the world. We are not only the trusted plaster brand No. 1 in Western Europe, but also market leader in 17 countries worldwide. We are loved by mothers, praised by athletes, and recommended by experts, pharmacists and doctors.
